Northern District Cricket Association (NDCA) is responsible for leading, growing and supporting cricket across six districts - Northland, Counties Manukau, Hamilton, Waikato Valley, Bay of Plenty and Poverty Bay. Our team provides pathways for professional cricketers, supports community cricket, and champions cricket events across the region.

With a refreshed strategic direction and a recently appointed CEO, it’s an exciting time to join NDCA as we head into an action-packed 25/26 season. 

About the Role 

The GM Business and Operations position is newly established, designed to lead business management and provide oversight of the operations, working alongside the GM Cricket and reporting directly to the CEO. 

This is a unique opportunity to blend sport, business, and operations whilst maintaining strong stakeholder networks and contributing at senior leadership level.

Overseeing a small team, this position has responsibility for:

  • Finance oversight including budgets/forecasting and monthly/annual reporting.
  • Commercial revenue growth through sponsorship and commercial initiatives. 
  • Business management across a wide variety of business-related duties including HR, H&S, compliance and office administration. 
  • Operations to ensure office logistics are well-managed including fleet, IT and equipment. 
  • Infrastructure and facilities management, including auditing venues, upgrades and projects. 

About You

With senior management experience in a finance or business management position, you will be able to quickly and accurately complete the financial and business components of the role and thrive in the commercial and project-management space.

You’ll need solid experience in budgeting, forecasting, business planning and finance reporting, with strengths in assessing commercial or additional revenue opportunities. 

You’ll also need to be: 

  • A Chartered Accountant 
  • Confident working with external auditors and comfortable with Board-level financial reporting 
  • Experienced with project management 
  • Comfortable leading teams within a high-performance team culture 

We’re looking for a natural leader with exceptional communication skills and the knack for maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. Because it’s a fast-paced work environment, you’ll need to be able to manage your time effectively to ensure competing priorities are well balanced, adapting quickly to changing circumstances. You’ll need determination to deliver on objectives, a proactive mindset to straddle the dynamic elements of the role, with the ability to think ahead and anticipate what’s needed for next steps.

The position is based at our Seddon Park office in Hamilton and normally worked Monday to Friday - although attendance at key cricket matches may be required at the weekend during the season.
