Northern Brave Skills

Quality Off-season Coaching for Ages 13-19

The Northern Brave Skills Programme offers high-quality coaching opportunities during the off-season for young people who want to become the best cricketers they can be.

This year we have a very exciting line up of coaches: Anton Devcich in Waikato and Keegan Russell in Bay of Plenty, plus a Counties Manukau coach to be announced soon.

This programme is an opportunity to build and improve your game. This is the ideal time to build momentum and gain confidence over the winter months before heading into the new season.

Learn from our top-quality elite coaching staff at our Northern Brave Skills Programme. Open to players 13-19 years old, over eight weeks you’ll have the opportunity to improve technical, tactical and mental areas of your game in an elevated training environment.

Counties Manukau with Mitch Renwick

  • Girls 13-19 - Sundays, 1.30-3pm, starting 28 July
  • Boys 13-15- Sundays, 3.30-5pm, starting 28 July - ONLY THREE PLACES LEFT
  • Boys 16-19 - Sundays, 5.30-7pm, starting 28 July

Waikato with Anton Devcich

  • Boys 13-15- Mondays, 4-5.30pm, starting 29 July - SOLD OUT

Coach Profiles

Anton Devcich - Anton is well known throughout Northern Districts Cricket following a successful domestic and international playing career. Following his final game for Northern Districts as a player, Devcich has made an immediate impact as a coach, and is now the Northern Districts A Men’s Head Coach and leads Pathway and Talent coaching throughout the Waikato.

Mitch Renwick - Mitch is the Pathway and Talent Coach in the Counties Manukau region. Originally from Palmerston North and currently based in Auckland, Mitch has a rich cricketing background having been part of the NZ Domestic player journey across both the Central Stags as well as Otago Volts. With a strong understanding of cricket across New Zealand as well as that of player development pathways and structures, Mitch brings a wealth of ideas and energy to grow players and coaches, both on and off the field.

Keegan Russell - Keegan is the Pathway and Talent Coach in the Bays region and leads the Pathway and Talent streams. Russell is the current coach of the Northern Districts U17 & U19 female teams and heavily involved in the Northern Districts A Men’s coaching setup. Before committing to a full time coaching role, Russell was a player who was in the Auckland Pathway Cricket system as a representative player and was a member of the New Zealand Junior Blacksticks for Hockey.
